The park is approximately 5000 acres with a
diversity of ecosystems including tall-grass
coastal prairie, a variety of wetland habitats and
hardwood, bottomland forest. The park contains
eight lakes/marshes and is bisected by Big
Creek which flows into the Brazos River which
makes up the park’s eastern boundary.
There are approximately 39 miles of trails
ranging in use from hike and bike, hiking only
and equestrian use. There is also the ½ mile, all-
accessible Creekfield Lake trail which has
wayside interpretive exhibits. Other trails also
contain interpretive signage.
